Affirmative Reaction (CAN)

Don't tell our Parents

All the way from Toronto Canada, Affirmative Reaction is ready to take the stage and bring you a show like no other.

Before the show starts, they invite audience members to write down a secret that their parents don't know about them and drop them in their "secrets box." Don't worry, your secrets will be kept anonymous, but they will provide inspiration for the improvisers as they create on-the-spot comedic scenes.  It's a night of pure entertainment that you don't want to miss! Plus, who knows, you may just see your own secret brought to life on stage. Don't miss out on this unique and unforgettable experience!

Affirmative Reaction is a Toronto-based improv group that delights audiences with their unscripted performances. They perform together weekly at various venues around Canada and are known for their style of grounded absurdity. The group takes ordinary situations and turns them on their head, infusing them with a healthy dose of absurdity and humor. Comprised of actors, sketch comedians, stand-ups, and writers, this diverse group brings a range of skills and perspectives to the stage.  This team has performed internationally at Irreverente improv festival (Portugal), Edinburgh Improv Festival (Scotland) , Detroit Improv Festival (USA) and will be touring their hit show “All of us are Asian” in New York City this November.  Independently they have performed at Sweden Improv Festival, Oslo Impro Festival, Palm Beach Improv Festival, Miami Improv Festival, Australian Improv Festival, Big City Improv Festival, Harold Fest, and Baltimore Improv Festival.

Land of Giants (NL)

You can expect big characters and absurd scenarios.

Land of Giants will explore the world through the lens of an ordinary object. You can expect big characters and absurd scenarios. Attacking and dissecting characters and premises from all angles, their playing style is high-energy and fast-paced.

The Netherlands is home to the tallest people on earth. LAND OF GIANTS are from Amsterdam but don’t fit into that statistic, so they see the world from a completely different perspective. On stage, these players use this as an advantage. Attacking and dissecting characters and premises from all angles, their playing style is high-energy and fast-paced. In their show, Alchemy, Land of Giants they explore the world through the lens of an ordinary object. You can expect big characters and absurd scenarios, not to mention the copious amount of lifting each other and standing on chairs. Forgive them, they have to feel tall somehow.

Teater Prego (SWE)

Ingmar - improvised Bergman

Ingmar Bergman hated improvised theatre.

The world famous swedish director Ingmar Bergman is known for having had very firm artistic ideas – that it was his will and his vision that mattered. What happens when eight improvisers are set free to do what they want with Bergman's legacy?

Teater Prego uses Bergman's aesthetics as tools when we dive into this endless world of human destinies, demons, places, ages, light and shadows.

One thing is certain. This is Bergman, as Bergman did not want it.
